Andy Cavatorta is a sculptor combining robotics technologies with form, motion and sound. His work explores technologically mediated emotions and opportunities to express the previously inexpressible.
The work is sculptural and visual. And the pieces are often inventions making possible new types of music or animation.
He is a graduate of the MIT Media Lab. Recipient of the Lincoln Prize. Recent collaborations include Björk and Matthew Herbert. Recent commissions include MoMA, TED, The Royal Opera House, Vice, and Stella Artois.
